Can you believe this? According to this article, "Less than a week after the federal government had to bail out American International Group Inc. (AIG), the company sent executives on a $440,000 retreat to a posh California resort." This is the type of excess and greed that got us into this mess---and it continues, to no avail. Fire them all.

How many of those executives do you believe are registered democrats? How many of them would classify themselves as "liberals?" Personally, I think they should be arrested and tried for treason.
You asked me to visit your site and comment in an intellectual discourse, and I am met by a smiley face saying "Imagine no liberals."
We had a culture who did that once, and thankfully two liberals, FDR and Truman, led our great nation through extraordinarily difficult times caused by the failed policies of conservatives, and together we defeated a culture who took the slogan "Imagine no liberals" as far as gassing us.

You're right about the smiley face---I took it down--posting it on my blog was not in line with my philosophy that all voices should be heard, even the dissenting ones.
Also, if FDR and Truman were alive today, they'd be considered Republicans.

I disagree that they would be considered Republicans -- their ideas would have progressed as both parties have since -- nevertheless, the economist you cited, Paul Johnson, says that Hoover and FDR were the problem and equates them. Granted, I think his claim is idiotic, but I have a couple of his books, and he's a decent enough writer. I often disagree with him, but he can be entertaining.
